The authors of the study, published in the journal PLOS ONE, note that a glass of fruit juice can help save you from high blood pressure. Scientists from the University of Toronto studied 12 sugar-containing products and concluded that moderate consumption of fruit juice helps to lower blood pressure.
For example, juice containing natural sugar, fructose, helped patients reduce blood pressure by 3.7 mm Hg. Experts explained that this effect is due to vitamins and flavonoids that protect the cardiovascular system and reduce inflammation.
Scientists advised to consume a little more than 50-150 ml of juice daily. Otherwise, the drink can, on the contrary, aggravate the condition and lead to high blood pressure.
Researchers have also found benefits from eating whole fruits with a high fiber content. In addition to protecting the heart and blood vessels, such products help strengthen teeth, immunity, and generally contribute to improved health.
However, it is important not to forget the importance of clean drinking water. A lack of moisture in the body can negatively affect the genitourinary system, blood consistency, and heart function.
