Wind direction from Zaporizhzhia NPP: forecast for several days (map)

The situation at Zaporizhzhia NPP is tense to the limit. The General Staff reported another possible provocation by Russia with explosions at the plant, and the Ministry of Health urges citizens to prepare an emergency suitcase in case of a radiation release. In this article, we analyze the wind direction in the next few days.

The provocation was expected to take place on the night of July 4-5. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that global security now depends solely on how the world community monitors the situation, and Russia must realize that it will not go unpunished.

“Radiation is a threat to everyone in the world, and a nuclear power plant must be fully protected from any radiation incidents. Different countries of the world have their own intelligence and other capabilities to know exactly what is happening and who is to blame,” the statement said.

Judging by the data on Windy.com, where you can track the wind direction online, if the provocation does occur at ZNPP by the end of the day on July 5, the wind will be blowing in the southern and west-south direction. The radiation could affect most of Ukraine, including the occupied territories. These are Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions. The wind is also rapidly moving towards the Crimean peninsula.

On July 5, ISW analysts reported on the likelihood of ZNPP blowing up in the near future. According to them, the occupiers’ threats related to Zaporizhzhia NPP may be part of Russia’s information operation.

On July 4, it was reported that Ukrainians were urged to prepare an alarm suitcase because of the situation at the ZNPP. The Ministry of Health advises to thoroughly prepare for a possible provocation by the Russians at the station, as their actions remain unpredictable. Local authorities will regularly inform the people about the situation in different regions.
