Smartphones in the Xiaomi ecosystem equipped with TouchID scanners provide owners with the ability to measure heart rate.
This option works thanks to the bright light in the area of the fingerprint scanner (blood can pass through the light due to its opacity).
Thanks to the feature discussed above and the fact that with each heartbeat, blood flows to the fingers, thus blocking more light, MIUI is able to track changes in blood flow, analyze them, and convert them into heart rate values.
How to measure heart rate with Xiaomi fingerprint sensor
- Visit “Settings” > “Advanced settings” > “Heart rate”.
- Follow the assistant’s instructions and, if necessary, provide the necessary permissions to use TouchID.
According to Xiaomi speakers, this measurement system is quite reliable (its error is <3 beats per minute).
