YouTube Premium introduces extended 1080p bitrate worldwide
YouTube has announced that it is expanding the list of features for its Premium subscribers, raising the monthly subscription price to $13.99 and providing access to 1080p video quality on computers around the world. Paul Pennington, a representative of the platform, told journalists about the innovation.
The 1080p feature was officially launched in April on iOS devices after successfully completing the initial test phase. When you try to use this improved bitrate, YouTube offers to sign up for a Premium subscription at the price listed above.
Users who have upgraded to 1080p video note the phenomenal picture quality (more clarity, brightness, and other advantages compared to the free version).
The improved bitrate is not limited to PCs, says Pennington, who says the 1080p standard will be available on gaming consoles, Chromecast devices, and more.
Owners of Android devices are asked to be patient. The delivery timeframe for the improved bitrate to devices controlled by the “green robot” is not specified.
