On Sunday, February 4, the Netherlands and Jordan dropped medical supplies and food from a transport plane near the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza City.
This was reported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Hanke Bruins Slot, in Kherson.
“People in Gaza are in desperate need of more help. The Netherlands and Jordan have jointly airlifted medicine and food to replenish the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza,” she wrote.
The press service of the Dutch government noted that, together with Jordan, they dropped medical supplies and food near the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza using a C-130 transport aircraft.
It is noted that the goods are intended to replenish the stocks of the hospital, which Jordan has been maintaining since 2009. The estimated value of the transaction is EUR 1 million, the government added.
“The Netherlands, together with other countries, is committed to increasing humanitarian aid to the civilian population in Gaza. Overland aid is the most effective way to deliver aid on a massive scale to the scene. But so far, access across national borders has been too limited,” the government said, explaining how the aid would be delivered.
