Netflix unveils trailer for Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire

At the end of Netflix’s Geeked Week event, the streaming service presented the final trailer for Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, which is divided into two parts.

The first part, titled Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, will be released in December, and in the spring of 2024, we will see the second film, Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver”. Although this film is Snyder’s last collaboration with Netflix, they have also developed a video game for the franchise, a previous comic series, and an upcoming animated show based on the Rebel Moon universe.

What the movie is about

In the first part of A Child of Fire, when a peaceful settlement located in the farthest reaches of the universe is threatened by the armies of the tyrant Regent Balisarius, Cora, a mysterious stranger living in the settlement, becomes the last hope for the people’s survival. She is tasked with finding trained fighters to join her in creating a resistance to the Mother World. Kora gathers a small group of warriors – strangers, rebels, peasants and war orphans from different worlds who share a common need for redemption and revenge.

The protagonist Cora in Rebel Moon is played by Sofia Boutella, known for The Mummy and Star Trek: Beyond”. Charlie Hunnam of Sons of Anarchy and Pacific Rim fame plays Kai, a “hired starship pilot”. Game of Thrones’ Michiel Huisman plays Gunnar, a farmer called up for service. Djimon Hounsou from Blood Diamond and Shazam – General Titus. Supergirl’s Staz Nair plays Tarak, a blacksmith who works in debt collection and has been compared to Tarzan. Doona Bae from Cloud Atlas plays Nemesis, who is called the “master of the sword.” Justice League’s Ray Fisher and Dopesick’s Cleopatra Coleman will play rebel brother and sister Darrian and Devra. Newcomer E. Duffy will play Milius, the last member of the assembled group.

“Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire will be released in theaters on December 15, 2023.
