“The First Code, a movie about Ukrainian IT, grossed almost UAH 1 million in its first weekend of release
On November 16, First Code, a documentary about the formation of the Ukrainian IT industry, was released in Ukraine. Ukrainian audiences were very interested in the film, and according to the results of the first weekend of its release, it became a record-breaking documentary among the documentaries released in Ukrainian cinemas.
It is noted that during the first days of release, the First Code movie grossed 83% more than the previous record holder, 20 Days in Mariupol. This is evidenced by the data of the film distributor B&H Film Distribution. However, the total box office of the film about the siege of Mariupol currently exceeds the performance of its competitors with a result of over UAH 2 million.
According to Forbes, the box office of The First Code is about 973 thousand. UAH. The result of the first weekend of the documentary 20 Days in Mariupol is more than 531 thousand viewers. UAH.
“Such films help Ukrainians to unite,” says Vladyslav Savchenko, the producer of First Code. “In the movie, we were able to reconcile competitors based on outsourcing, outstaffing, and product companies. It’s one big family that can achieve more by uniting.”
