A copy of the Iranian “Shahed” was presented in Turkey
Robit Technology has introduced the Azab long-range drone, which belongs to the class of barrage munitions. Anadolu writes about it.
The kamikaze drone has a triangular wing. It looks like a Shahed-136. As in the case of the Iranian drone, Azab is able to operate autonomously. GPS is used to guide the target. Azab maintains communication with the operator at a distance of up to 200 km. It is not known whether it can be controlled remotely.
Selcuk Firat, who holds the position of product director at Robit Technology, said that the company’s engineers developed the kamikaze drone in two versions. The wingspan of one version is 1.5 meters, and the other is 2 meters. The drone with 2-meter wings can carry a payload weighing up to 15 km. Azab supports the installation of various types of warheads. The flight range of the barrage munition was not mentioned during the presentation. The manufacturer claims that it is “long”.
Azab flight tests have been completed. According to Firat, Robit Technology engineers plan to start combat testing of the UAV in the near future. Serial production of barrage munitions will be launched in Turkey by the end of the year.
