The Portuguese city of Anadia was flooded with wine due to an accident at the Destilaria Levira winery on Sunday, September 10.
Locals on social media share footage showing a stormy stream of wine rushing down the slope of a city street, turning it into a real river.
The incident was caused by damage to tanks with alcoholic raw materials. The exact amount of wine that was spilled and the amount of damage to the city are not yet known.
In Anadia, Portugal, two wine tanks burst at the local Destilaria Levira plant.
The accident caused a spill of tens of tons of alcohol. Several streets were flooded.

“Our biggest concern was that the wine would not get into the Sertima River and cause an environmental disaster. According to our civil protection coordinator, this monitoring is being carried out, and environmental problems have been avoided,” the city administration said.
