Behind the scenes of renaming: the process of creating new names for Kyiv metro stations (photos)
New letters are manually created for the renamed metro stations “Ploscha Ukrainskih Heroyiv” and “Zvirynetska”.
Each letter is made by hand due to the peculiarity of the historical font. The next stage is coloring with a bronze tint.
The historical fonts were designed for free by type designer Bohdan Hdal. He provides authorial supervision over the process of creating new inscriptions.
Recently, the author chose the colors for the letters. And they were agreed with the architects of these stations.
Ukrainian Heroes Square – bronze medal. For contrast on light marble.
Zvirynetska is a light golden shade of brass that interacts with the metal panels around the perimeter of the letter niche.
