Storm in Kyiv tears Ukraine’s largest flag in half (video)

In the capital, strong winds damaged Ukraine’s largest national flag, and it is being taken down from the flagpole. This was reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration, and the video was shared on social media.

“Despite the fact that the flag was lowered the day before the weather conditions deteriorated, strong gusts of wind damaged the lowered cloth. It is now being removed from the flagpole and will be replaced with a new one,” the statement said.

The largest flag of Ukraine today is located near the Motherland in Kyiv. The flagpole is almost 90 meters high and weighs 32 tons. The size of the flag cloth is 16 by 24 meters.

On October 28, this flag was already damaged by the wind when a storm warning was issued in the capital. Again, despite the fact that it had been lowered the day before to preserve its integrity.

  • On November 27, at 7:30 am, the entrance to Kyiv for large vehicles was closed due to snowfall.
  • In the Poltava region, 437 settlements are without power due to the weather.
  • Residents of 60 settlements in Chernihiv region are without electricity.
  • Stormy winds have reached occupied Mariupol, the city council reports. Due to the bad weather, there were massive emergency power outages in various districts, broken power lines, and fallen trees.
