Dozens of dead animals: a well-known shelter “Kotohata” was blown up in Kyiv (video)

The woman who took care of the cats had previously reported the threats and filed a statement with the police.

On the night of September 24, around midnight, unknown persons blew up a cat house in Kyiv, the so-called “Kotobaza”. The Real Kyiv | Ukraine telegram channel wrote about it. Almost all the animals are reported to have died, except for a few kittens. They were taken to the intensive care unit.

“About 60 animals were killed/injured. The police, firefighters, and concerned people are at the scene. The woman who took care of the cats had previously reported threats and filed a statement with the police,” the statement said.

Some Telegram channels report that almost all of the animals died, except for a few kittens who were taken to intensive care. Later it became known that not all the animals were in the building at the time of the explosion, some of them scattered after the fire and later returned to the burning.

According to one of the witnesses of the fire, in the first seconds after the explosions were heard and flames appeared, a man was swearing very loudly and shouting “f***er”. That is why many believe that the shelter was set on fire.

The Kotobaza cat shelter, a place for feeding, treating and helping cats, was located in a boiler room in the courtyard of a house at 76-A Akademika Zabolotnoho Street.
