After that, the first takeoff was allowed. In addition, the publication reports that the construction of two more KAAN test aircraft has begun. One of them should be ready in the middle of this year, and the first aircraft will enter service with the Turkish Air Force in 2028.
The KAAN prototype uses the American F110 engine, just like the F-16. Ankara has submitted a request to the United States for joint production of GE Aerospace engines. A total of 6 engines were purchased for the first three prototypes.
It is known that the test flight was conducted by test pilot Barbaros Demirbas. After the plane landed, the audience and developers gave the board a standing ovation.
