One of the most anticipated films: Warner Bros. showed a new epic trailer for Dune 2
There are still more than 2 months to go until the scheduled premiere of the second part of the sci-fi film Dune 2 by Denis Villeneuve, but Warner Bros. does not let fans forget about her.
Dune 2, the sequel to the saga based on the novels by Frank Herbert, remains one of the most anticipated films and still claims to be one of the best films (though now in 2024 instead of 2023).
This week, Warner Bros. decided to stir up interest in the movie with another video. The main thing that viewers will learn from this (third) trailer is that the scale of the second film will be even more staggering than the scale of the first. The epic shots with several giant sandworms and battles in the air are worth seeing.
The trailer also makes it clear that Paul’s (Timothée Chalamet) feelings for his beloved Chani (Zendaya) will have a significant impact on how he rules and what he wants.
“The film follows the mythical journey of Paul Atredes as he teams up with Chani and the Freemans on a quest for revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Faced with a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he tries to prevent a terrifying future that only he can foresee,” the trailer says.
As a reminder, the Dune saga directed by Denis Villeneuve is an adaptation of the bestseller of the same name by Frank Herbert. The work tells the story of the fictional universe of the Galactic Empire, which is ruled by many exoplanets. The key role in her life is played by the desert planet Arrakis, also called Dune, where a unique valuable substance is extracted – spices. The plot centers on the life of young Paul Atrid, whose family takes possession of Arrakis. Paul is faced with the task of not only surviving, but also of changing the empire and the nature of Dune forever.
Villeneuve’s first film, which covered only about half of the novel of the same name, became a six-time Oscar winner and, with an estimated budget of $165 million, grossed more than $400 million at the box office. Dune 2 will be a movie adaptation of the second half of the novel.
Work on Dune 2 began in 2021. The film was scheduled to premiere in November 2023, but due to a strike by Hollywood actors, the release of the film had to be postponed. The new expected premiere date is February 29, 2024.
