The C-RAM anti-aircraft complex is capable of ‘disrupting’ Iranian drones
To counter Shahed-136 attacks, the Ukrainian army needs C-RAM air defense systems. This was stated by expert Oleg Zhdanov.
According to him, such complexes are in service with the allied armies. C-RAM is an automatic air defense system with its own radar. The maximum operating range of the installation is four kilometers.
C-RAM was originally developed to intercept projectiles and mines in flight. The tactical system is able to fix them in the air even at supersonic speed. Iranian kamikaze drones will be easy prey for C-RAM. According to Zhdanov, the air defense system will simply tear them apart. The flight speed of Shahed-136 does not exceed 150 km/h. For C-RAM, this is nothing.
On the basis of C-RAM, German engineers created the MANTIS system. It received a more powerful fire part. MANTIS is essentially an automatic cannon with a modified radar. It can work fully automatically.
