North Korea announces the launch of a new tactical nuclear submarine, the Kim Kun Ok Hero.
The opening ceremony was attended by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who made a statement about the boat. He noted that it will carry out its combat mission as one of the main underwater offensive assets of the DPRK Navy.
“There is no room for retreat from the expansion of the naval shipbuilding industry, as this is a priority task that must be completed without fail,” Kim Jong-un said.
Earlier, the DPRK launched “Strategic Cruise Missiles” from a patrol ship on the eve of NATO exercises.
