The Iranian Navy has armed itself with a futuristic missile corvette-catamaran (photo)
The Navy of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has received a new missile corvette-catamaran, called Abu Mahdi.

The induction into the Navy took place during a ceremony in the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, which was attended by high-ranking officials, including IRGC Commander-in-Chief Hossein Salami and Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri.
The Corvette is named after the Iraqi commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, who was killed along with Iranian Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in a US drone strike in 2020.
The Corvette has a displacement of 2,100 tons and a length of 40 meters.
Target detection is provided by a three-dimensional radar with a phased array antenna. The corvette is armed with C802 anti-ship missiles, anti-aircraft missiles and artillery.
The ship is equipped with communication systems and electronic warfare systems.
Abu Mahdi can also accommodate sea and air drones and speedboats.
