The people’s satellite helped: the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine conducted a space reconnaissance of the objects of the Russian occupiers
Defence Intelligence of Ukraine carried out space reconnaissance of enemy objects in the occupied territories, in Russia and its allies. In general, with the help of the ICEYE satellite, it was possible to determine the location of the occupiers even in forest plantations. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
Defence Intelligence of Ukraine conducted space radar reconnaissance of about 150 areas where the enemy is located. And not only on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, but also on the territory of Russia and its allied countries.
With the help of the ICEYE satellite, many interesting things were discovered
Intelligence reported that with the help of the “people’s satellite” they discovered and confirmed the placement of about 2,600 units of military equipment belonging to the Russian occupiers. In particular: tanks, self-propelled guns, anti-aircraft missiles, helicopters, Iskander air defense system, S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile defense system, enemy radars, pontoon crossings, boats. Tents were also spotted in the locations of enemy units.
The forest strip and bad weather did not save the occupants
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine also added that the satellite data made it possible to effectively determine the hidden location of the enemy in forest plantations, in any weather and even at night.
This became possible thanks to the cooperation with BF Serhiy Prytula, who put the ICEYE satellite at the disposal of Ukrainian intelligence officers, as well as contractual access to the database of the SAR satellite constellation,

Serhiy Prytula’s reaction did not take long. On behalf of his foundation and Ukrainian defenders, he thanked the incredible Ukrainians and those who support Ukraine from abroad for giving them the opportunity to implement this “space project”.

This satellite paid for itself in the first 2 days
- We will remind that this satellite was purchased with the money of caring Ukrainians, collected by Serhii Prytula as part of the “People’s Bayraktar” campaign.
- In Turkey, the drones were handed over for free, so for 600 million unused hryvnias, they purchased the ICEY satellite and, in addition, annual access to all photos from the company’s other satellites.
- At the end of September, Defense Minister Serhiy Reznikov reported that in just 2 days, thanks to the “people’s satellite”, it was possible to destroy Russian military equipment for an amount that exceeds the cost of the satellite.
