The Ukrainian Armed Forces showed the French Lance-roquettes unitaire missile system for the first time
For the first time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed the French rocket launcher unitaire Lance-roquettes unitaire (LRU) at the front.
France sent two rocket launchers to Ukraine at the end of autumn. They kept company with almost three dozen M142 HIMARS, M270 MLRS and MARS II. The photo of LRU was published on Facebook by military officer Oleksiy Kashporovskyi.
The LRU is a modification of the American M270 MLRS system. It has two containers and can simultaneously launch 12 GMLRS rockets with a range of about 80 km. In total, France has modernized 13 missile systems.
An updated fire control system is installed on board the LRU. Also, the modernization includes reinforced armor along with the use of a new communication system and a new navigation system.
