The YouTube video platform will undergo a large-scale restyling
Over the past few weeks, Google developers have been testing a restyled version of YouTube’s video hosting service. Last weekend, the redesigned homepage appeared briefly for some users. They managed to take screenshots of it.
From the images published by users, it follows that the updated page has a darker design. In the mobile version of YouTube, rounded rectangles have replaced ‘pills’ in the list of recommendations. The corners of the video previews placed on the main page have also been rounded.
In the desktop version of the video hosting service, Dark Mode has become even blacker. This was done to soften the perception of the monitor display in a dark environment.
It is worth noting that the restyled version of the main page of the video platform is still being tested. That is why it is not available to most YouTube users. Terms of testing by Google are not disclosed.
