Ukrainian Armed Forces discover a dangerous vulnerability in American Abrams tanks

A serious vulnerability has been discovered in the Abrams M1 tanks supplied by the Pentagon. The filters installed on the engine intake get clogged with dirt. They should be cleaned twice a day. If this is not done, the power plant and transmission will fail. As a result, the combat vehicle will require extensive repairs.

American tanks are undergoing deep maintenance in Poland. Thus, dirt can disable them for a long time, no worse than Russian missiles or miles. Ukrainian tankers say that engine filters may be the biggest problem for them in operating American vehicles.

Another problem faced by Ukrainian tank crews is “gluttony.” The Abrams M1 tank consumes too much fuel. However, the Pentagon has never concealed this. Laura Cooper, who is the deputy head of the US Department of Defense, called the vehicles handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces “gas guzzlers.”
