US Special Forces are testing the latest K4 MANTA underwater drone

The K4 MANTA maritime drone from the British company Kraken Technology Group is being tested by the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

The company Kraken Technology Group announced this in its X (formerly Twitter) account;

MANTA is a family of unmanned offshore platforms designed to perform a variety of reconnaissance and strike missions.

Depending on the version, maritime drones are designed to use reconnaissance or strike payloads weighing from 25 kilograms to 5 tons.

The peculiarity of the platform is that it does not use screws for immersion and movement under water.

Depending on the version, the operating depth ranges from 2 to 30 meters. The MANTA family powertrain can be either electric or hybrid.

This technology, coupled with the low-profile carbon fiber construction, low acoustic noise, and small thermal footprint, makes the MANTA family a very difficult target to detect and defeat.

The developer claims that the drones of the family can autonomously perform tasks for an average of 10 days.
