“Nudsoteka in Google Photos is available for iOS and Internet users

Google is expanding access to the “private folder” feature in Google Photos – from now on, you can use the ability to store private photos and videos separately on the web version and on iOS devices.

“Nudsoteka (officially called Locked Folder), which allows Android device owners to hide certain photos and videos behind a password, is now available for iOS and Internet users as well – in fact, it’s backed up by a new option to back up “locked folders” for access from multiple devices using the Google Cloud.

The Locked Folder feature lets you hide sensitive images or videos you want to keep out of sight – not only does it provide password-only access, but it also hides media files from the general feed, which helps you avoid embarrassing situations when scrolling through your various app libraries.

According to Google, backing up the contents of closed folders to the cloud is performed with several levels of protection.

“We protect this data with multiple layers of security, including advanced encryption technologies such as HTTPS and ‘encryption at rest,'” said Google spokesman Michael Marconi.

Google Photos has also updated its settings page with additional sections for privacy, backup, sharing, notifications, etc.
