‘The enemy is afraid of us’: a Ukrainian fighter from the front line talked about the defense of Soledar (video)

A serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that, despite the enemy’s attempt to get hold of some areas, in general, the city of Soledar is under full fire control of Ukrainian troops.

A Ukrainian serviceman with the call sign ‘Beard’ told about some details of the battles for Soledar. According to him, the city is under full fire control of the fighters of the 46th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces, and the enemy will suffer significant losses in an attempt to attack the positions of the Ukrainian defenders. The interview of the serviceman was published on the YouTube channel of Ukrainian journalist Yury Butusov.

‘Beard’ was recently the commander of an armored group that fought night battles in the city. He said that the enemy has recently been trying to change tactics in offensive actions, but has no fighting spirit and is running away under the blows of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

‘The enemy is afraid of us, afraid of our ‘Cossacks’, our combat vehicles, which have good armor and high-quality fire damage,’ said the Ukrainian defender.

‘Beard’ also spoke about the losses of the enemy – his company destroyed more than 100 invaders. The enemy wants to get hold of the positions in the houses of Soledar, trying to advance from different sides day and night at any cost. But after coming under heavy fire from our artillery, tanks and attack aircraft, he either dies or escapes, said the soldier of the Armed Forces.

‘The city of Soledar is completely under the fire control of the 46th Airmobile Brigade of the DSB of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The fact that they are advancing and settled in separate houses… this is not a fortified area, and it is demolished very simply and quickly,’ Boroda said. .

The fighter added that now the enemy is holding a positional defense and is trying to attack from the flanks, because he understands that it is useless to storm ‘head on’, and even the Wagner fighters understand this.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian troops stopped the offensive on the city of Bakhmut and concentrated on the surrounding areas, in particular, on the city of Soledar. Journalists of the Wall Street Journal wrote on January 4 that for the Russian Armed Forces, victory in this direction is of great importance after a series of defeats of Russian troops on the battlefield.

On January 8, military experts from the Institute for the Study of War wrote that the owner of the ‘Wagner Group’ Yevgeny Prigozhin is trying to explain the slow progress of mercenaries near Bakhmut by the fact that the city has unique defense structures and underground mines where personnel and military equipment can be placed.
