Cars with Android Auto will no longer get lost in parking lots: they will mark their location on Google Maps

Cars equipped with the Android Auto software platform will help their owners find themselves in the parking lot. This system was able to save the parking space after arriving at the destination. The car’s geolocation will be available on Google Maps.

Back in 2017, Google Maps for Android and iOS added a very useful option for saving a parking spot. But this new toggle in the latest versions of Google Maps for Android Auto makes it easier to save your parking spot when you arrive at your destination. It appears when you navigate to a specific destination and is displayed on the arrival screen.

A simple press of the “save parking spot” button will save this information to the car’s user account and even on Android phones will remind you of the abandoned car the next day.

There are some questions about how the new feature works, most notably whether this switch takes into account any subsequent trip to find a parking space after arriving at your destination.

The feature should be available in the latest versions of Google Maps. If you don’t see it on your phone yet, be sure to check the Play Store for updates.
