Porsche has announced the Macan electric car, its second ever electric vehicle (after the Taycan), with a price starting at $80,450 (in Ukraine – from UAH 3,225,530). Two modifications are offered, called Macan 4 and Macan Turbo.
The new Macan will have a 100 kWh battery and 800V architecture for fast charging. Porsche says that the Macan will be capable of receiving up to 270 kW during fast charging, and the charging time from 10 to 80% will take 21 minutes. At 400-volt charging stations, a high-voltage switch in the battery splits the 800-watt battery into two. This means efficient charging without an additional high-voltage amplifier with a capacity of up to 135 kW. Household wall-mounted units can be charged from the AC mains with a capacity of up to 11 kW.
The electric motors can recover up to 240 kW of energy while driving. The Integrated Power Unit (IPB) increases the efficiency of the new Macan models while saving weight and space. The IPB combines three components: an on-board AC charger, a high-voltage heater and a DC/DC converter. The mixed cycle range according to the WLTP is up to 613 km in the Macan 4 and up to 591 km in the Macan Turbo.
The Macan 4, when using the Launch Control function, delivers up to 300 kW (408 hp), and the Macan Turbo up to 470 kW (639 hp). Torque reaches 650 and 1130 Nm, respectively. The Macan 4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, while the Macan Turbo accelerates in just 3.3 seconds. The top speed of both models is 220 and 260 km/h, respectively.
Depending on the model and equipment installed, the capacity behind the rear seat is up to 540 liters. Under the hood there is a “front trunk” with a capacity of 84 liters. In total, this is 127 liters more than in previous models. When the rear seat is fully folded, the rear luggage compartment volume increases to 1,348 liters.
The new Macan is already available for order in Ukraine. The estimated cost in the Porsche dealer network starts from UAH 3,225,530 for the Macan 4 and from UAH 4,414,970 for the Macan Turbo.
