Google will provide the ability to generate images on demand instead of searching websites

Google has announced the launch of a new program, Search Generative Experience (SGE), which allows users to create images using artificial intelligence directly from the search bar.

Instead of choosing from a list of websites, the system synthesizes a coherent response to a user’s query in natural language and generates images based on this query. The system also allows users to export or download the created images. In addition, users can generate images directly in Google Images and use Google Lens to search for real products that look like the generated images.

However, there are several limitations of the new feature. Users must be registered with Google Labs and the SGE program. Also, image generation is available only in the United States, in English-language applications, and for users over 18 years old. To prevent the abuse of artificial intelligence, it is forbidden to create photorealistic images of human faces and “famous” people. Google is also implementing the SynthID system, which marks generated images as such and provides information about who created them and when.

The new features are available in the Google app for iOS and Android, as well as in the Chrome desktop browser for select users. They will be expanded to more users in the coming weeks.
