Ukrposhta issues a new stamp for Independence Day “Mother Ukraine”

To mark the 32nd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, Ukrposhta announced the release of a new stamp called“Mother Ukraine“.

This was reported in the press service.

The author of the artistic interpretation is Zinaida Kubar. The artist depicted the Motherland monument with the Ukrainian coat of arms on the shield and a red necklace around her neck. Behind the monument is a map of Ukraine.

Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smelyansky commented on the launch of the new stamp:

“The installation of the Ukrainian trident and possible renaming to “Mother Ukraine” is a step towards rethinking history. Ukrposhta, as usual, does not stand aside and instantly responds to current events. The postal issue “Mother Ukraine” visualizes the updated image of the monumental sculpture and demonstrates that the conceptualization continues.”

The press service notes that the stamp will be issued in 600,000 copies. The pre-order for the stamp opens on August 18, while shipments will begin on August 24, when the stamp goes into circulation.
