After returning from Turkey, Redis underwent rehabilitation, after which he planned to return to combat missions. Azov’s press service published a photo of the commander at a training session.

The commander of the separate Azov special forces unit, Denys “Redis” Prokopenko, was spotted at a tactical training exercise. The photo with Redis was posted on Azov’s Telegram press service.

In particular, Azov commander Denys Prokopenko took part in the regiment’s tactical training, where special attention was paid to rapid analysis of the situation and decision-making on the battlefield when interacting with different types of troops. First, the Azov command and instructors analyzed the mistakes made in tactical and formation exercises, and then the soldiers began to perform live-fire maneuvers.

“The main purpose of the tactical exercises is to work out practical issues of planning and organizing combat in offense and defense, commanding units in combat and their comprehensive support,” the statement said.

On July 31, the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Colonel Oleksandr Pivnenko, said that the commanders of the Azov regiment, including Denys “Redis” Prokopenko, were preparing to return to the front to perform combat missions. According to him, Prokopenko may take part in combat operations within a month.
