Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers “spotted” a Polish self-propelled anti-aircraft system Hibneryt, the delivery of which was not announced (photo)

The Ukrainian army has received a Polish modernization of the ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun based on a truck.

This was reported by Polish OSINT analyst Artur Michiek in X (formerly Twitter).

A photo of a truck with a ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft mount was posted online. The researcher found that it was Hibneryt, which was developed in Poland. The anti-aircraft gun is mounted on the Star 255 truck platform. The cargo area was raised so that the anti-aircraft gun could fire unhindered. If necessary, the unit can be removed and used stationary, since the wheels of the ZU-23-2 are not removed.

Hibneryt was developed in the 1980s. There are several versions of the vehicles, including the ability to install Grom MANPADS missiles. The second modernization was created in 2007 by MSPO. The cab has been armored to protect the crew from small arms fire. Later, the Hibneryt 3 was created, which received even better crew protection and larger firing angles of the ZU-23-2.

Hibneryt in the basic modification

The author does not indicate which version was put into service with the Ukrainian military, but visually the cabin does not look armored. Probably, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have a basic modification of the Hibneryt. Poland has not officially announced the supply of anti-aircraft guns to the Ukrainian army.
